Problem:
How to keep all the stuff in my tank bag from sliding around thus making
it hard to find anything.
My Solution: (April 27 2007)
A "red neck" tank divider. I'm not sure of a better description for my
tank bag divider. It only took me about 30 minutes to complete including
painting in my custom paint booth. Moving the dividers is easy since
they are only nailed with my brad gun. In fact after taking these
pictures, I moved a divider in just a few minutes. With all my junk in
the tank bag, its hard to tell the divider did not come with the bag.
Update (June 10, 2007)
After about 10 rides of which over half were full day rides (~12 hour
rides - including two night rides) I found that my dividers needed to be
adjusted. I simply pulled the dividers apart and using my brad gun, I
nailed them into place.
One big change was I found items would slide 'under' the dividers and
get caught on the wood. So I took an old towel and cut to fit the inside
of the Big Mak tank bag. Not only do items not slide around any longer,
but items do not rattle and make noise.
