Problem:
How to mount my Garmin 2820 between my handlebars (like the factory NAVIII)
without taking away the clean and crisp lines of the RT (this leaves the
Tourtech out). Since I mount my video camera on my BMR Shelf, mounting between
the bars was a perfect location. However, spending over $130 for a BMR NAVIII
mount that may not work was not the answer. My local BMR dealer did not have a
NAVIII mount for me to test fit my Garmin 2820, so that option was out.
My Solution:
I used a small RAM Mount that has worked well. The RAM Mount allows me
to move the GPS to find the exact location that works for me. I purchased the
Garmin motorcycle kit to provide both power and audio out that feeds into my
Autocom solution.
MP3 Playlist:
I wanted to create "playlist" in my Garmin 2820 like I do in my iPod.
Garmin technical support sent me the instructions on how do create a playlist
within the Garmin 2820. Garmin sent me the instructions. However, after several days of the instructions not working, I
contacted Garmin only to find the Garmin 2820 does not support playlist, only
the Garmin Zumo does. I questioned if the Garmin 2820 line will ever support the
playlist function and was informed it would not.
