Comments:
This was my second 49er rally and was only 10 miles from home. The 2006 49er Rally was my first BMW rally.

I took the opportunity of this rally to test new gear, bike modifications and new features I learned about the Garmin 2820. This rally was may last big ride until the Utah 1088 in June 2007. Over the last few months I have been fine tuning my bike, equipment and gear for the Utah 1088. The weekend turned out great and everything worked as expected.  A few last minute adjustments, but nothing major.

A "track log" of the Poker Run is available here for those who have Garmin MapSource software. I started tracking when I left Rally HQ in Auburn and stopped when I returned. You will notice at the top of the screen I got lost due to the instructions being less than clear on one turn (but that's the fun). I thought it was just me until I found about a dozen other riders stopped at the town of Pike wondering where to go also. We decided to have lunch 'again' and think about it.

The poker run was a good route (and Hwy 20 was perfect), but could have been another hundred miles or so for those of us who like to have a full days ride. I left around 10:00am and was back to the Rally HQ by 3:00pm including stopping for lunch (twice). Next year maybe they might have a 1000+ miler since the Rally is three full days.

While at the rally I met Rick Mayer of Rick Mayer seats who mentioned that my seat was a bit too low for me. Since the seat was made for the original owner, Rick suggested that he make a small modification which I agreed.  However, to my suprise when I made the appoitment, Rick stated that I should be prepared to spend up to $300 to add new foam. I found this a bit too much, and have  passed on getting my seat adjusted. My next seat will be a Russel seat based purly on this customer service incedent.
